The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairperson, Jessica Rosenworcel, issued a Notice regarding enhancing strictness in the Commission’s rules to notify customers and federal law enforcement authorities in case of a data breach. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) proposes to remove mandatory waiting period and mandating notifying in cases of inadvertent breaches among other proposals.
