No doubt, countries have gone different ways: in Australia the covid-19 tracing app has been generally welcomed by the population; in Israel the Services are authorized to track contacts of covid-19 patients even in the 14 days preceding their diagnosis; Singapore was among the first countries to implement such measures with positive results on the prevention side, though collecting a lot of personal data; while Belgium, like any other EU member state, had to balance the national pandemic situation with the EU GDPR and national DPA requirements applicable to this technology.
