Bio

Van Diepen Van der Kroef Advocaten advises clients on all types of privacy and data protection matters. Van Diepen is known for its strong international practice and has several German and French qualified lawyers as well as (native) German, Polish and French speaking lawyers. As a result, Van Diepen advises major companies from these countries.

Stephan Mulders advises both Dutch and international clients on GDPR and technology-related compliance. He has particular expertise in designing data-light compliance structures, data breaches and know-how protection. Stephan also has a privacy and data protection litigation practice, where he represents clients both before civil courts and before the Dutch Data Protection Authority. He also represents a number of clients in relation to reputation management and the right to be forgotten.

Stephan is currently an external PhD student at Maastricht University. The topic of his research is the concept of damages for GDPR breaches. His latest article was published as editor’s choice by International Data Privacy Law (https://doi-org.mu.idm.oclc.org/10.1093/idpl/ipad012).He is a member of ITechLaw and the IAPP.
