The Ministry of Information of Oman promulgated the Law on the Protection of Personal Data which was published in the Official Gazette No. 1429. The law will repeal Chapter Seven of the Electronic Transactions Law which was partly regulating data protection in Oman. The law will come into effect on Feb. 9, 2023.
