Mr. Matsuda mainly handles cross-border transactional matters and cross-border disputes. He heads the data protection practice group at Iwata Godo, and in addition to advising client on Japanese revised personal data protection law, he also advises client on GDPR and Singapore data protection law in conjunction with local counsels.

Luiza Sato is a partner at TozziniFreire Advogados in São Paulo where she focuses her practice on adaptation projects to the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and specialized consultancy regarding the new law, analysis of data protection and audit procedures, as well as issuance of legal opinions on digital law and intellectual property matters. Her experience encompasses assistance to local and foreign companies in the protection of intellectual property rights, registration of industrial property agreements with government agencies, adoption of administrative measures for the protection of industrial property, legislation concerning intangible assets and confidentiality, information technology and data protection.

Pádraig Walsh is a partner working in the Corporate Commercial group of the independent Hong Kong law firm, Tanner De Witt. After an initial experience of eight years as an attorney with YDES, Jean-Christophe was then appointed as Head of the Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Economic law of the Europcar Group. After this successful experience, Jean-Christophe re-joined the Digital Economy and Data department of YDES in 2016, as an Of-Counsel and became a partner in 2018.

Jean-Christophe is involved in all the legal issues related to digital economy and in particular, the areas of intellectual property, literary and artistic property rights, I.T. law and networks, e-commerce, technological innovations, contract law, media and advertizement law, protection of privacy and personal data, consumer law, competition and distribution law.

Stephen Mathias is the head of the Bangalore office of the Firm and co-chair of the Firm’s Technology Law Practice.

Stephen is a graduate of the prestigious National Law School of India University where he did an Honours degree in Arts and Law.  He is also a British Chevening Scholar and has done a diploma in European and English Law at the College of Law York and worked briefly at a leading law firm in London.  He is also a solicitor on the rolls of the Law Society of England and Wales.

Stephen began his career working in the Tax and Regulatory Division of multinational accounting firm Arthur Andersen, doing mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments, joint ventures, securities law and strategic investment work.

Ruben Roex performs privacy and data protection (GDPR) compliance audits for SMEs, multinationals and public sector organizations and assists clients with implementing data protection requirements in day to day activities, processes and systems. He advises clients regularly on complex issues regarding data protection law, often at the crossroads of other domains such as eHealth and Human Resources. He drafts information notices for virtually any target audience and is very well acquainted with data processing, data exchange and data sharing agreements. Ruben is well versed in data transfer matters. He also assists clients with the data protection aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

Kyuho Hwang is a Ph.D. educated engineer who has been advising and litigating with technology-based companies with his research and development experience in the field of technology. In particular, he has many years of experience handling issues of intellectual property, trade secrets, and industrial technology matters.

All of which require a deep understanding of technology and its continual evolution. Mr. Hwang also has experience in resolving disputes involving defects and deficiencies in equipment, buildings, automobiles, and aircraft, as well as with accidents such as fires, explosions, and hacking.
