Luiza Sato is a partner at TozziniFreire Advogados in São Paulo where she focuses her practice on adaptation projects to the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and specialized consultancy regarding the new law, analysis of data protection and audit procedures, as well as issuance of legal opinions on digital law and intellectual property matters. Her experience encompasses assistance to local and foreign companies in the protection of intellectual property rights, registration of industrial property agreements with government agencies, adoption of administrative measures for the protection of industrial property, legislation concerning intangible assets and confidentiality, information technology and data protection.
She holds a LL.M in Law and Technology from the University of California – UC Berkeley and maintains a close relation with the University, being the leader of the Berkeley Global Society’s Women Rights Project.
Luiza was in 2020 the most voted lawyer, by clients and colleagues, as the rising star of the Data Protection area in Brazil and, in 2021, elected a next-generation partner by Legal500 and one of the 500 best Data Protection lawyers of the world by the WWL 2022 global ranking.
